Tuyu was founded by Antoinette Gast in 2003.

The combination of business and social engagement has interested me since I was a student and it is a guiding principle in my career. In my jobs as a consultant at Orbis (PriceWaterhouse), sales manager at Mexx, managing director at Loekie (Accell Group) human values and doing business successfully have always gone together. Tuyu goes one step further. By lifting fair trade to a higher level, I am able to do business with and for people in developing countries for whom the door to the Western market is not always open.

Art and culture inspire me as well as the contact with nature. The dynamics of brands fascinates me. But the core of tuyu is the connection with other people and entrepreneurship.
